Before we look forward to another great year in 2020 for Clearfield Metal Technologies, we pause for a moment to reflect on our accomplishments in 2019. This past year has been a year of significant growth for our company, as we finished with a 20% increase from the previous year. This was only made possible as a result of our dedicated team that works very hard to make sure that we meet our customer requirements and expectations. To say that I am proud of our team is an understatement. They have risen to every occasion, have faced many challenges, and yet have continued to prepare us for the future, and this is what makes me so excited about 2020. All of us here know that at the core of our business, are our customers. They are the reason we do what we do. They are what fuels our passion for continual improvement and innovation. Our customers drive us into new and exciting opportunities, and sometimes direct us towards things that we have never done before. With each and every challenge we have faced this past year, we have taken a step; often, a step towards the familiar, but sometimes a critical step towards the unknown. Our natural tendency is to walk in familiar territory, and to avoid unknown steps. But as a wise person once told me, sometimes, the only way around it, is by going through it. To take that unknown step. To face the unknown, and to be willing to make mistakes for the sake of growth. Yes, mistakes happen, but we face them and learn from them. What we have learned as a result, and how these mistakes have taught us and have better positioned us for the future, has made taking those uncomfortable, unknown steps worth it.
As a result of always listening to and focusing on our customers, and being willing to sometimes take that unknown step into new opportunities, processes, and technologies, we anticipate yet another strong year of growth in 2020. In order facilitate this, Clearfield has invested in additional equipment and upgrades for 2020. Some of the highlights are:
- Quality: Automated CMM with additional measurement capabilities including profiling and gearing
- Compacting: 66 Ton Cincinnati Multi-Action press to enable us to produce smaller, multi-level parts with less post machining
- Sintering: Additional 24” furnace with “Hyper-cool” capabilities for enhanced material properties
