In 2017, Clearfield Metal Technologies and the family and friends of Tom Turner began the Tom Turner Memorial Scholarship for qualifying Clearfield Area High School graduates attending a trade or technical school. This scholarship is in memory of Tom, one of the first employees of CMT, who was a model employee, coworker, and friend.Tom served as the Maintenance Manager for the first 6 years of CMT’s existence.“Even though Tom worked with his hands, he worked with his heart,” says Everson Berringer in remembering Tom.This year’s recipients of the scholarship will be decided in April and awarded in May.
Recently CMT has been offering to send employees to Continuing Education classes.
Adam Dysard in our Sintering Department took a 5-day Sintering course at TAT Technologies.
Quality Department employees, Dave Kovalchick, Loye Smarsh (shipping), and Tina Stiner all completed the ISO 9001:2015 Internal Auditor Training course offered by the NWIRC in St. Marys, Pennsylvania
HR Manager, Kristin Siwy attended a 2-day Managing Human Resources Seminar in Pittsburgh to make sure we are up to date on new practices and policies.
Office Manager, Rachel Versaw and Project Manager, Steve Dixon have been part of several webinars that share new and effective ways of managing our company.
We are always looking for additional training opportunities for employees. There is always more to learn. Education is the kindling of a flame, not the filling of a vessel.

During the 2018 holiday season, employees at Clearfield Metal Technologies rallied together to gather collections for the local food pantries.
We made it a contest; for each item that an employee donated they could cast one vote (per item) for the supervisor they wanted to see get a pie in the face at our annual Christmas Party.
Donations came pouring in and we were able to fill a ton of boxes! 41 out of 49 employees at the time had brought in at least 1 item; some brought items by the bag full. By the end of the food drive, CMT was one of the top two companies with the most donations in our area! This was truly a gratifying experience for such a small company.
The winning or “losing” supervisor coming in with 466 votes was our Plant Manager, Jason Dysard. However, the other 6 supervisors wanted to show their appreciation to their employees that worked so hard and made donations that they decided to “take one for the team.” Each and every supervisor got a pie in the face and we all got a good laugh together.
Coming together is something we all need to do and make the world a better place while we are doing it.
As a result of experiencing strong growth, Clearfield Metal Technologies (CMT) has recently purchased and installed, 3 Mori-Seiki CNC Lathes, One Omni Turn GT 75 Automated CNC Lathe, One 110 Cincinnati Multi-Action Press, One Yoshizuka High Speed 20 Ton Press, and One 24 inch Sinterite Sintering Furnace.
Tim Britton, VP / Sales & Marketing stated that, “The recent purchase of additional equipment will allow us to continue to meet our current customer demands, as well as the demands of new potential customers. We attribute the success of our growth to our very strong commitment to our customers and our team's ability to quickly react to our customers’ needs on a daily basis. Companies often say that they are customer focused, but in many cases, customer responsiveness is not evident in practical, day to day business. Our team takes this very seriously and this is what drives our daily actions within our company."
